KTH Live-In Lab

DESCRIPTION

KTH Live-In Lab offers something as unique as full-scale testbeds with everything from apartments in building-exempt premises to a changeable and scalable infrastructure. KTH Live-In Lab can match customer projects with researchers from relevant interest areas and create individual offers within the framework of each project. It also includes a database and a unique collaboration platform.

AREAS OF SPECIAL COMPETENCE

Full-scale building testbeds including building systems and interaction with building users
Database for collecting, storing, and sharing data
Co-Creation platform including office space

WHAT CAN BE TESTED

Testing of everything from material and components to systems and processes
Testing in buildings with users (interviews, co-creation, workshops etc.)

AVAILABLE INFRASTRUCTURE

Three full-scale testbeds, including 305 student apartments in plus-energy buildings, an educational building with a gross area of 3500 sqm and a flexible testbed with reconfigurable geometry and operable outside of Swedish building regulations.

Technical systems that are already installed and can be used for R&D-purpose are for example PVs, EV-charger, ground source heat pumps, wastewater heat recovery systems, advanced BMS and control, ubiquitous sensors.

PRICING MODEL

Industrial projects pay a yearly fee between EUR 5 000 – 30 000 for using KTH Live-In Labs premises, systems, in addition to the project specific costs for installation/remodelling etc. The annual fee is determined based on the resources required by the project, from only data to major remodeling and it shall cover costs for KTH Live-In Lab personnel for managing the project.
