SG+ JOINT CALL 2015 FOR TRANSNATIONAL RDD PROJECTS ON SMART GRIDS

In 2015, ERA-Net Smart Grids Plus launched its 1st joint call for transnational RDD projects on smart grids in partnership with funding programs from 20 European countries and regions. The projects have been or are being co-funded by the European Commission under H2020. A list of the national funding partners that have been involved in the call can be found here.
The focus of the 1st joint call for transnational RDD projects was given to validation, scale-up and replication and Integration of the three research layers adoption, marketplace and technology. The aim was to push solutions from Technology Readiness Levels TRL 5-6 to TRLs 6-7.
Outcome of the 1st Call
The call resulted in
- 50 full project proposals from 20 regions/countries with a total project budget of EUR 104 Mio. submitted to the call by June 2015
- 21 approved projects from 19 regions/countries with a total funding of EUR 31 Mio. and a total project budget of EUR 47. Mio. (for details, check the list of projects)
- consortia involving a total of 128 partners spread throughout Europe, 48,5 % of which are industry partners
The projects started in 2016 and will close in 2019 at the latest.
